Lake Sylvia in the Ouachita Mountains is located at N 34° 52′ 5.70″ W 92° 49′ 20.00″, or about 20 miles to the west of Little Rock via Highway 10.
The best time to visit is during autumn and spring, when the weather is cool. The area features four trails system of different span and difficulty. These are:
- Trees of the Forest, 0.4-mile
- Wildlife Loop, 0.8-mile
- Chinquapin Loop, 0.7-mile
- Lake Sylvia Loop, 0.8-mile
The trails walk would take somewhere between half an hour to an hour and half, depending on whether you have a slob in the party. Just remember if you see a bear, the bear would go for the slowest member of the team.
