Boston Terrier playing ball

Once bred for fighting, now an alert companion.

Bostons were originally a cross-breed between the now extinct White English Terrier and an English Bulldog. They are cute for their overall looks, if it’s not just for the big ball-fetching mouth.

They are sensitive to the tone of one’s voice, playful, affectionate, and like any other dog breed like to be part of the family. Find the dog and you’ll find the (human) family.

Though Bostons are generally well behaved indoors, they are good players in the backyard too. That’s where they can get energetic and willful, as long as they get to drink a lot.

Once looked upon for dog fights, now a symbolic representation of man’s best friend. Peaceful creature they are. Maybe some religious humans can’t touch dogs because they can’t tolerate peace like dogs do. Plus, dogs don’t make threat to quality sarcasm.

The Boston Terrier is an appropriate representative of Boston commons.
