I’ve stood in the presence of grandeur!
Yosemite Valley is part of a national park. It’s a national heritage, one of the places on earth to die for, or at least, to see before you die. It’s about 4 hours drive from San Francisco (I’m sure the duration can be shortened if you drive like an intoxicated chipmunk) and roughly about 3000ft from sea level.
This place is simply amazing! There are no words to describe the majesty, tranquility of the surrounding or how everything in nature seems to fit in so perfectly. God’s design. A perfect weekend getaway for the computer nerds (Internet available), and a sanctuary for nature’s lovers, it is a place for repeated visits throughout the seasons.
Visitors should spend at least 3 to 5 days up there just for the experience. In case you’re not into camping and stuff, there’s a luxury Ahwanee hotel for roughly USD300++ per night. That’s probably the cheapest room.
This is the place to commune with nature. Hear the birds sing. Let the squirrels approach you (and for once not tempted to eat them because they’re so cute). Be on the lookout for wild bears and be ready to take off if they get too close.
And in this place, all you need is a camera and lots of film (or memory card).
